THX 231  (AMC/48/2). This lovely 2 Litre Sports Drop head coupe was made in 1948 and fitted with the prototype engine EN4/47/3. It has the distinction of being the first David Brown car to be sold after he bought Aston Martin in 1947. It has taken part in many Club events and actually won the 1955 St John Horsfall Trophy. In 1997, the car was featured in Michael Bowler's book 'Aston Martin The Legend'. The car is now in Japan. Other photos of it, taken at the Spring 1980 Birtsmorton Court concours, appear on page 44 of AM 19.75 and the front cover of AM 19.76.
