The Roger Stowers Collection

Roger Stowers (1931-2003) was a prolific photographer of all things mechanical, but especially classic motor cars and the people associated with making, maintaining and owning them.

Roger worked for Aston Martin Lagonda from 1976 to the late 1980s and for some of that time was an official photographer for the Aston Martin Owners Club. He covered many Club events all over the UK and Europe, and recorded much fascinating detail of the manufacture of Astons at Newport Pagnell and Bloxham. His knowledge of the Company became encyclopaedic; as a result, he was a much respected source of information.

When Roger died in 2003 his entire house contents to do with Aston Martin was left to the Aston Martin Heritage Trust. These included his full collection of negatives, colour slides, black and white and colour prints, race and event programmes, a bequest for which we are very grateful.

Whilst we are digitising his total collection, a huge task, we are offering for sale a selection of Roger's images as high quality prints, black/white or colour, depending on their source, from this unique collection. We shall be adding to our selection but if there is something in particular you are looking for, please let us know and we'll try to find something suitable.

A fund started in Roger's memory has now been invested in a wonderful mobile display cabinet. This forms part of the permanent display in the Museum at Drayton St Leonard and will be filled with a selection of Roger's own photographs to do with Aston Martin, on a rotating basis to keep it fresh for returning visitors.
