Recent acquisition

Today we received two former Aston Martin and Lagonda factory signs from the Coventry Transport Museum.  The signs were disposed of by Aston Martin Lagonda as part of a refurbishment, rescued and given to the CTM in 2001 where they sat in storage.  We are very proud to have these two historic signs in our collection and look forward to displaying them in the Barn.

Help for Heroes Weekend

The Club and Trust were both well represented at Manor House, Essex this weekend for a special 'Help for Heroes' event.  Highlights of the event were a DBR2 Chassis/Body on display, a Classic Car Show and Aston Martin racing driver Tony Brooks signing copies of his new book 'Poetry in Motion', which is also available to purchase from the Trust Shop!

Despite the weather, the event was well received by over 150 visitors.

"Highlight of UK Tour"

We had two members from Victoria, Australia stop by the Barn today.  They are winding down a 4 week tour of the UK making sure to visit all the historic Aston locations.  Spending a few hours at the Barn and a drive in the Ulster has made this the "highlight of the UK Tour".

Great Visit

We had a wonderful visit yesterday from Richard Hayes, son of AMHT Founder Walter Hayes (we even let him drive the Lagonda to lunch!)

Going Live

The Trust website will be going live today!!!  We have been working very hard getting the new website up to Aston Martin standards.  You will see some new features such as the Blog, News and most importantly the Shop.  We have only listed a few of the many products that will be offered, so check back often and see what is new.

Good progress on product loading

It's very satisfying to see the website coming together here. A lot of work in loading literally hundreds of scanned covers for the AM publications but once they are there and populated with brief contents listed as well, the same image and info should be easily transferable to the on-line catalogue pages in AdLib.

Happy Monday!!

I spent the weekend looking at photos from the Klemantaski Collection.  David Brown's DB2 DHC was used in the film "The Devil on Horseback" and David Brown Jr's DB2 Saloon was used in the film "Voice of Merrill".  Guess Bond wasn't the first to drive an Aston Martin.

Display Cases

The display case mock up was installed today.  It is only a wooden box at the moment but it gives an excellent visual representation of just how much display space we will have.  I can't wait to see the Barn with 7 new all glass display cases, it will completely transform the building.
