At the Goodwood Revival meeting, to be held September 14-16 2012, Bonhams will be auctioning an artwork made by a Hertfordshire company as a tribute to three Aston Martin personnel who contributed so much to the famous victory of 1959 and all of whom have died this year -Ted Cutting the Chief Engineer, Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori, the drivers of the winning car.
The kit is a full size artwork of a Airfix style kit assembly of the sage green Aston Martin No.5 that won. The body is moulded from glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), with wire wheels and race tyres, seats, a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel and a cap signed by Shelby and Salvadori.
The manufacturers of the life-sized model are Evanta and the auction will take place at the Revival, on September 15th. The guide
price is £25,000.
