Designed by Ian Callum, the man responsible for the DB7, the V12 Vanquish was developed with assistance from Aston Martin's parent company Ford using constructional techniques more advanced than those of any then current road car at the time.
Given the V12 Vanquish's state-of-the-art specification, it is not surprising that Aston Martin would wish to showcase this ground-breaking chassis technology in the form of a full-scale cutaway.
The cutaway was on show during the V12 Vanquish launch event at the Imagination Building, Store Street, London in early 2001. It was also displayed at Geneva and many other motor shows. It featured in publicity shots, the original sales brochure and was used for dealer training at the time of launch. Eventually it was used for Heritage dealer training at Gaydon.
The Aston Martin Heritage Trust is thrilled to be able to add this one-of-a-kind piece of Aston Martin history to the Collection.
