Celebrating Vantage

75 Years of Vantage and 20 years of Gaydon Vantage

Aston Martin first used the name “Vantage” in 1950 as a specification for the DB2. The Vantage name continued throughout the Aston Martin model range changing from a specification to a model name and is still used in the current Aston Martin model range.

“Vantage has always stood for engineering ambition, thrilling performance and exceptional beauty.”

The name “Vantage” proudly sits on more than a third of all sports cars ever made by the luxury British brand. Spanning seven decades and covering some of the company’s most revered sports cars, the Vantage family forms a crucial part of the ever-evolving Aston Martin story. 2025 is an important milestone for Vantage.

75 years of the Vantage name associated with Aston Martin and 20 years since the launch of the first Gaydon Vantage. The Gaydon VH2 Vantage remains the biggest sales success in the brand’s proud history; time for a celebration!

The Aston Martin Heritage Trust were pleased to support the Aston Martin Owners Club with this celebration. Held at The British Motor Museum, close to the Aston Martin Factory, owners and enthusiasts’ gathered in great numbers to join the party.

The day began with special guest, Dr Ulrich Bez, delivering the V8 Vantage press introduction speech from the Geneva Motor Show on February 8, 2005 alongside the AMV8 Vantage Concept (2003) displayed by the Trust. The car caused a great deal of interest on the day, especially the V12 engine disguised to look like a V8 engine! Aston Martin V8 Vantage Concept | AMHT

Garry Taylor, AMHT Podcast lead presenter and producer, and Steve Waddingham, AML Historian explored the displays, chatted with owners and past and present employees of AML, all of which was captured in a Bumper Podcast which you can listen to here:
