Clare is an experienced museum professional with nearly fifteen years in the sector, spanning museum education, curation, operations management, and collections management.
She has worked with both museum and university collections that range from social history ephemera and textiles to archaeological artifacts and historic vehicles.
Clare has served on a museum board in Northern Ireland, earned a fellowship in museum resilience leadership, and presented at conferences in object conservation.
A lifelong enthusiast for heritage, she spends her spare time exploring historic houses, with a particular love for textiles and costumes. She will happily take a ‘busman’s holiday’ to handle other museum collections for the sheer joy of it.
Proudly from the Northwest, Clare describes herself as a ‘transport kid’ raised among buses, cars and the local transport club. Inspired by her dad, a mechanic who built engines for Greater Manchester buses, she developed a lifelong affection for all things that move.
