John has been Chair of the Board of Trustees since August 2022 and a Trustee since 2018. Following a career in the Royal Navy as a nuclear submariner, John has worked in the civil nuclear industry in a number of senior roles including Chief Executive of the Nuclear Institute, the professional and learned society for nuclear specialists. He now works as a consultant developing and financing nuclear projects around the globe, specialising in advanced reactor technology. He also runs a small photography business, mainly concentrating on equine and automotive commercial images. He is a member of the UK Government’s Engineering & Manufacturing Route Panel advising on technical education and apprenticeship standards.He also coaches photography apprentices. John is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Physicist and Licentiate of the Master Photographers Association. His current drive is a manual DB7 Vantage, but he is also considering adding a Pre-War when the time is right.
