Mike became a Trustee of AMHT in 2019, shortly after retirement, by answering a plea in AM News magazine for volunteers. Previously he worked for many years within Group Headquarters at AB SKF: a Swedish-based multinational engineering company.

He has been an Aston Martin fan since his schooldays, when he had a cigarette card (remember those?) with a picture of a beautiful sports car: a DB2. Mike applied for a job with the company on leaving school but was turned down because he didn’t live locally (an unusual recruitment policy!)

Undaunted, Mike kept his keen interest in the marque and has since owned several Astons; initially a 1985 V8 Lagonda. He joined the AMOC in 2006, and soon afterwards trained as a Concours judge, which helped him to win twice with his own cars: the V8 Lagonda and a 2005 V12 Vanquish.

Mike is currently overseeing the Trust’s relocation project, having worked in property management previously at SKF. The next stage of this project is a fundraising program, to enable us to move our museum and headquarters to a more suitable site.
