This year’s Heritage Open Days event was very much a great success. We opened our doors at 10am and were met almost immediately with a stream of eager visitors. Some of our visitors were local, from the village and surrounding area, however there were a large majority of visitors who had travelled at least an hour and a half to have a look around. We even had visitors from as far as Germany and the United States!
Aston Martin Reading had hoped to join us on the day, but complications at the last minute meant they were unable to attend. Hopefully next year they will be able to. Nevertheless, we maintained a consistent stream of guests throughout the day. Our activity sheets were also very popular amongst the number of families that joined us on the day. Some of our visiting guests enquired about supporting the trust, and many were keen to come back for a more comprehensive tour of the collection.
Overall, this year’s event built on the success of last year, and we look forward to taking part again in next year’s Heritage Open Days Festival.
The Heritage Open Days Festival will be continuing until 21st September.

Here’s a few pictures from the team on the day. Special thanks to our amazing volunteers; Mike, Claire and Phil and our lovely work experience student, Noah. We couldn’t do it without you!
