The strictly limited edition Lagonda Taraf super saloon was unveiled in the Middle East on 10 November 2014. The name Taraf meaning ‘ultimate luxury’ in Arabic, according to Aston Martin.
Based on the Rapide and using AML’s VH architecture platform, it drew significant design inspiration from the William Towns-styled Lagonda of 1976 and featured many cutting-edge engineering techniques seen in modern Aston Martin sports cars such as the use of carbon fibre body panels.
Initially, AML only offered the Taraf to the Middle Eastern market, but after significant interest elsewhere it became available worldwide.
The Taraf was hand-built at Aston Martin’s manufacturing facility in Gaydon and is one of the lowest volume VH platform cars ever made.
