Recorded between February and March 2025, it started with a spontaneous opportunity for Steve Waddingham to accompany retired AML Head of Performance Driving guru, Les Goble, in a Vantage V600.

A few weeks later, Steve was due to spend a day with a 1978 V8 Vantage – this led to the idea of recording with a number of other Vantage types to mark the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the first Vantage (DB2 in 1950).

With thanks to the owners and drivers of the following cars, Steve, often from the passenger seat, heard, literally, what makes the Vantages so special.

This episode runs through the cars in age order:

  • 1968 DB6 Vantage (owner Geoff)
  • 1972 AM Vantage (owner Phil)
  • 1978 V8 Vantage (owner Geoff – ex-AML Motor Show car from 1978)
  • 1997 Vantage V600 (courtesy of Chiltern Aston.  Driver – Les)
  • 2014 V12 Vantage S (owner Phil)

Main Host:

Steve Waddingham

Producer:

Garry Taylor
