In this special episode, Garry Taylor is in conversation with David Richards CBE at the Prodrive premises, Banbury.

We look back at his early days as a young man, through schooling, and overcoming challenges not known to him at the time. He found a love for rallying and we follow his journey over the years, via Porsche, BMW, Ford, Ferrari and, of course, Subaru etc to Prodrive as we know today.

With David being the driving force behind Aston Martin Racing, and the announcement of the DBR9 in November 2004, we look behind the scenes as to how that happened, and the ongoing success it continues to enjoy today.

In addition to his role as Chairman of Aston Martin Lagonda from 2007 to 2013, where he spearheaded the consortium’s acquisition of the company from Ford, we delve into the behind-the-scenes events that led to this. It reveals the plans devised by David and his associates for the company’s future, up until the onset of the Financial Crisis in late 2007.

Engaged in various sectors within the automotive industry, now including hospitality, this podcast delves into David’s personal journey.
