Clearly built on a passion for Aston Martin and a champion for its heritage for the past 25 years, Trinity Engineering, founded by Tim Butcher, has established itself as one of the leading Aston Martin specialists from DB2 to the Gaydon era.
Before opening the doors at Trinity, Tim provides an insight into his early career recalling a chance encounter with an AMOC Member at his mother’s newsagent, leading to first steps at RS Williams, then onto the McLaren F1 Team and finally Trinity.
We hear about his work on the Sanction 2 Zagato’s, various Le Mans car such as Nimrod, AMR1 and the little know potential Le Mans racer – the DB7 V8. Tim also talks affectionally about his times with Mike Salmon and the wise words from Mike when the two Nimrods failed to finish one year.
Through providing support for a Round-the-World DB2/4 rally, piloted by Barry Weir and receiving a cake in Alaska, we hear how he managed to get a propshaft onto an airline as hand luggage.
We conclude with a workshop tour around the Trinity Engineering facility.
