On the 2 September 2024 a new Aston Martin was revealed, and a very special one too, with the return of the Vanquish name.
Garry Taylor discusses around the table with Guy Jenner, CEO of HWM Aston Martin and Steve Waddingham, AML Official Historian, the significance of the Vanquish name and how it is deemed to be King of the Hill.
With the New Vanquish, we look into the impressive technical specification including the brand new V12 engine, which is unique to this car and why the V12 is a defining engine for Aston Martin. Further insight into the exterior design with apparent design vibes, in our eyes at least, from previous iconic cars, and uncover some of the details you may have overlooked from the press photos. We then open the virtual door as we consider the 2+0 seating configuration and the interior unique style.
Finally, as this recording was done at the British Motor Museum at Gaydon, we take a trip to the museum floor and revisit the original Newport Pagnell Vanquish – the origin of the name.
Staying with the previous generation cars, please do listen to our previous Vanquish podcasts, namely Episodes 15 and 16, where we look back at the Vanquish history, and dispel those gearbox myths.
